INTER NOS (w/ guest Hrafn Gunnlaugsson, Director)

A leading power station engineer is at the height of his career. He is a respected father and beloved husband. A crisis situation is created when his best friend dies and his children, at the age of independence, move away from home. He has reared his children and achieved his goals, but now feels alone and that his life lacks meaning. His wife seems a stranger, their only form of conversation having been the subject of their children. The huge power stations, once the pride of his ingenuity and creativity, now seem stark monuments to vanity and futility. Craving love, friendship and understanding, he tries to begin again and searches for a life of adventure and meaning.

At 34, Hrafn Gunnlaugsson has become well known in Iceland as a playwright, novelist, poet and filmmaker. His first feature "The Father's Estate" (1980) was a box office success in Iceland and dealt with the sensitive theme of the grim realities of life on a remote Icelandic farm. INTER NOS is his second feature.

Hrafn Gunnlaugsson will be in attendance.
