CIFF Streams Platform
CIFF Streams is the CIFF’s virtual cinema platform hosted by CineSend, accessible via a web browser on a smartphone, tablet, or computer as well as through the CIFF Streams app for Roku and Apple TV devices.
Geo-restrictions
Technology that restricts streaming access to a film or shorts program based on a user’s geographical location. The majority of CIFF46 Streams films are geo-restricted to the United States and Puerto Rico, however some films are geo-restricted to viewers regionally (to viewers in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.) Viewers can create a list of CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs available to them from their streaming location by using the “Watching From” filter on the Schedule page.
On Demand
'On Demand' streaming allows viewers the freedom to choose when they will begin streaming film(s) and shorts program(s) during CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022). Ticket holders can begin streaming all the films and shorts programs they've purchased tickets for, and passholders can begin streaming all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs, at 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, April 10, 2022 through 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 17, 2022, on a first come, first served basis or until a film is SOLD OUT. However, irrespective of redemption windows, all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs must be viewed in full by 11:59 PM ET on April 17, 2022.
Redemption Window
The Redemption Window is the amount of time a ticket holder has to stream a CIFF46 Streams film or shorts program they have purchased a ticket for.
All CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs have a redemption window of 48 hours from the time a film or shorts program is redeemed (by clicking “Play” on the film or shorts program). Do not click "Play" until you are ready to stream the film or shorts program in full. However, irrespective of redemption windows, all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs must be viewed in full by 11:59 PM ET on April 17, 2022.
While CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs can be temporarily paused or rewound during the 48-hour redemption window if the player remains open, it is not advised that you stop the shorts program or close the player until you have finished streaming the film or program in full. Trying to resume streaming after the player has been closed, from another device, or from another location, will result in being unable to finish streaming the film or shorts program.
SOLD OUT
All CIFF46 Streams films are limited to a maximum number of streams (or streaming cap) on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all tickets to a film are sold, the film will be marked as “TICKETS SOLD OUT” on the CIFF website. Pre-existing ticket holders for that film and all CIFF passholders will still be able to stream the film.
When a film’s status has been marked “TICKETS SOLD OUT” and then the passholder streaming cap on a film is reached, the film’s status will be updated to “SOLD OUT” and the film will become unavailable to stream for passholders. However, pre-existing ticket holders for the film will still be able to stream the film. We suggest you prioritize the films you’d like to stream first.
