What are the guidelines and restrictions for CIFF46 Streams films?

Streaming Cap:

  • Every film in the CIFF46 Streams program is limited to a maximum number of available streams (or a Streaming Cap). For CIFF46 Streams passholders, we suggest prioritizing the films you really want to see first when creating your personal streaming schedule as CIFF46 Streams tickets are subject to sell outs. For the latest CIFF46 Streams programming updates, visit our Latest Updates page.

Geo Restrictions:

  • Films screening online during CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022) are available for streaming nationwide in the United States and Puerto Rico, unless otherwise noted. Some films are geo-restricted to viewers regionally (in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania). Geo-restrictions on films are listed under the “Access” section of the film’s description page. Applying the “Watching From” filter on the Schedule page will generate a listing of all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs available to stream from a specific location. Please note: Geo-restrictions are based on the current location (and IP address) of the viewer while streaming and are not determined by the primary address or residency of viewers.
  • Disable dynamic IP addresses and VPNs while streaming CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs as this will result in being unable to stream. Changing IP addresses, internet connections, or devices mid-stream prompts our platform to view that as a potential act of piracy. Refrain from changing locations or internet connections while streaming as streaming will stop, and you will be unable to continue streaming that film or shorts program.

Streaming Window:

  • All films and shorts programs included in CIFF46 Streams are available for On Demand streaming during CIFF46 Streams (from 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, April 10, 2022 through 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 17, 2022 on a first-come, first-served basis or until a film is SOLD OUT). For a list of all films and shorts programs included in CIFF46 Streams, visit the Schedule page and checkmark the box for the “CIFFSTREAMS ONLY” filter.

Redemption Window:

  • CIFF46 Streams tickets can only be redeemed once and have a Redemption Window of 48 hours (or until 11:59 PM ET on April 17, 2022 when CIFF46 Streams ends) in which the associated film or shorts program can be streamed. The redemption window begins when the ticket holder redeems the ticket (by clicking “Play” on the film or shorts program). Do not click "Play" until you are ready to stream the film or shorts program in full. While CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs can be temporarily rewound or paused during the 48-hour redemption window, the player must remain open and the stream must remain paused in order to resume streaming. Trying to resume streaming after the player has been closed, after the film or shorts program has been stopped, or after you have moved to another device or another location, will result in being unable to finish streaming the film or shorts program because it can only be redeemed once.

What tools does the CIFF Streams streaming platform have for CIFF passholders?

Watch Later

  • The CIFF Streams platform has a Watch Later tool that allows passholders to create a unique list of CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs they would like to watch. This is similar to the members-only 'My Favorites' feature on the CIFF website. While the two lists are not connected, passholder members can use their 'My Favorites' list to create their 'Watch Later' list on the CIFF Streams platform.
  • To add a film or shorts program to your 'Watch Later' list, click into the film or shorts program's landing page on the CIFF Streams platform and click on '(+) Watch Later'. This will add the film or shorts program to your Watch Later list.
  • You can access your list by clicking on 'Watch Later' from the top navigation on each page of the CIFF Streams platform.
  • To remove a film from your Watch Later list, go into the film or shorts program and click '(-) Watch Later' to remove it.

CIFF46 Streams Program Categories

  • On the home page of the CIFF Streams platform, passholders can browse the CIFF46 Streams program offerings by a number of categories: Shorts Programs, All Shorts, Feature Narratives, Feature Documentaries, All Features, or take a gamble with the CIFF Shuffle which, when selected, produces a random listing of CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs you may not have come across through your browsing.
